PENGARUH VARIASI TEMPERATUR UDARA DAN MASSA BAHAN TERHADAP WAKTU PENGERINGAN GABAH DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ALAT FLUIDIZED BED DRYER
Rice is one of the important food crop in Indonesia. Rice is known as a principal food of Indonesian society. The pattern of consumption of rice is slowly but surely increasing in line with rising incomes, education and easy access to information. Increased demand for grain in the country reached 1.6% per year. One problem appearing in the grain production process is the drying process. Commonly, Indonesia process dry their grain directly under the sun. This methods has many limitation this process drying. In this research, the methods is changed into fluidized bed drying methods.The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of air temperature and mass of paddy grain on the drying time. The temperature variations used were 400C, 450C, 500C and variations in mass of 1 kg, 1.5 kg, 2 kg.The result show that the fastest drying process to get a final moisture content of 13.1% from the initial moisture content of ± 22% is achieved using the temperature of 500C and at the mass of 1 kg. This drying process approximately 40 minutes
