PENGARUH MODIFIKASI JALUR MASUK UDARA PRIMER DAN VARIASI KETINGGIAN LUBANG UDARA PADA TUNGKU PEMBAKARAN BIOMASSA TERHADAP UNJUK KERJANYA
Biomass furnace is a medium commonly used to establish burning reactions, then the heat produced is utilized for cooking purposes. The design of biomass furnace used by the community is still very simple so that the combustion efficiency is still low, which is only ranging from 5 to 10%. The design of the furnace in this research is to modify the primary air inlet and the altitude variation of air holes using three types of furnace. Type A furnace with a standard design, B-type furnace by modifying the primary air inlet where the air hole in the outer casing is aligned with the air hole in the inner casing and the C-type furnace by modifying the primary air inlet where the air hole On the outer casing opposite the air hole in the inner casing. The altitude variation of the air holes in each – each type of furnace is 50 cm, 60 cm and 70 cm. The results showed that the time required to raise the temperature of the water with ∆ T = 65 °c Fastest 317 seconds in the furnace type A with a height of air hole 70 cm. lowest Fuel consumption rate (FCR) of 0.708 kg/hour in furnace Type C with air hole height 70 cm. Highest net power of 1.468 kW in type A furnace with air hole height 70 cm, while for the lowest combustion power of 5.300 kW in type C furnace with air hole height 70 cm, and the highest efficiency produced by the furnace of 21.965% is present in the type C furnace with air hole height of 70 cm. Based on the FCR value, combustion power and efficiency produced by the furnace then the type C furnace design with Airhole height 70 cm is best.
