STUDI SIFAT PEREDAMAN SUARA DAN MORFOLOGI KOMPOSIT DARI SERAT DAUN NANAS DAN FILLER KOTORAN SAPI DENGAN MATRIK POLYESTER
The use of natural fibers as reinforcement for composite materials has begun to be recognized in the industrial and manufacturing world. One of the factors driving the use of natural fibers as reinforcing composite materials is that natural fibers are able to be recycled and selfbiodegradable so that they are more environmentally friendly, which is a characteristic of the demands of the latest technology. Today, pineapple leaf fibers and cow dung fillers are being used as composite mixing materials. Pineapple leaf fiber and cow dung filler need to be treated to increase the soundproofing power. This study aims to determine the effect of fiber orientation and volume fraction of cow dung filler on the soundproofing properties of polyester composites. Composite specimens were made from pineapple leaf fiber with a constant fiber volume fraction of 10% and cow manure filler with a volume filler fraction of 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% with random fiber direction. The matrix used in this study is polyester resin. Pineapple leaf fiber and cow dung filler were treated with 8% NaOH solution for 2 hours. The process of making composites using molds made of silicon and given a weight of 5 kg. Testing is done through soundproofing test and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) test. The results showed that the soundproofing test had the highest sound absorption value at a volume fraction of 15% at 0.5390 dB at a frequency of 4000 Hz. The Scanning Electron Microscopy test shows that composites have perfect binding capacity for fibers and fillers, causing high sound absorption
