ANALISA KARAKTERISTIK UJI TARIK DAN UJI BENDING KOMPOSIT SERAT ECENG GONDOK DENGAN FILLER ABU SEKAM PADI DAN MATRIK POLYESTER
Composite is a combination of two or more materials that are
arranged in a certain way to get new properties. For this reason, the
manufacture of water hyacinth fiber composites with rice husk ash filler
and polyester resin is one way to obtain new material properties. The
purpose of this study is to determine the mechanical properties of tensile
strength and bending strength in the fiber volume fraction and filler
volume fraction varies.
Composites that have fiber hyacinth with rice husk ash and
polyester resin with fiber volume fraction of 20%, 30%, 40%, while rice
husk ash fraction is 4%, 5%, and 6%. Furthermore, composites are
printed according to ASTM D3039 standards for tensile tests and ASTM
D790 for bending tests, then composites will be tested for tensile
strength and bending strength. To find out the significance of the effect of
the volume of water hyacinth fiber fraction and volume fraction of rice
husk ash fraction, Two Way Of Variance (ANOVA )was used.
From the results of the composite tensile strength test with
variations in the volume fraction of water hyacinth and rice husk ash filler.
The highest tensile strength value occurs in variations with 10% hyacinth
fiber volume fraction with 5% rice husk ash filler volume fraction and the
lowest value in the variation of 15% water hyacinth fiber volume fraction
and 4% rice husk ash filler volume fraction. Whereas the highest value of
bending strength occurs in the water hyacinth fiber fraction of 10% and
the volume filler volume fraction of 5% with a value of 70,644 MPa and
the lowest value in the variation of the volume of the water hyacinth
volume 20% and the volume of the filler volume 6% with a bending stress
value of 40,353 MPa
