PENGARUH VARIASI TEMPERATUR UDARA DAN MASSA BAHAN TERHADAP LAJU PENGERINGAN GABAH MENGGUNAKAN ALAT PENGERING TIPE VERTIKAL KONTINYU
Indonesia is an agrarian country rich in agricultural produce
because some of its inhabitants have farmers' livelihoods. One
of the agricultural products that often suffers damage in
agricultural products during post-harvest is grain. Mechanical
drying is needed to solve the problem because drying can be
done without depending on the weather and more efficiently.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of air
temperature and material mass on drying rate and drying time
and drying efficiency. The temperature variations used are
45°C, 50°C, and 55°C with a tolerance of ± 1°C and the mass
variations of the materials used are 30 kg, 40 kg and 50 kg. The
results of this study partly show that the higher the air
temperature used the faster the drying rate and drying time.
While the heavier the mass of dried materials, the longer the
drying time. At 55°C and material mass of 50 kg resulting in the
fastest drying rate is 0.00029328 kg/s. While the fastest drying
time is 135 minutes 24 seconds at 55°C and the material mass is
30 kg to reach a water content of 14%. At 45°C and material
mass of 50 kg resulting in the slowest drying rate of 0.0001634
kg/s and being a variation that takes the most drying time of 270
minutes 28 seconds to reach water content of 14%, with a
constant air speed of 7 m/s. The highest drying efficiency occurs
at a temperature variation of 55°C with a material mass of 30
kg which is 2.17%. And the lowest at 450C with a material mass
of 50 kg is 2.12%.
