KINERJA SAMBUNGAN TAKIKAN BAMBU BERPENGISI DENGAN BERBAGAI VARIASI SUDUT
All this time, bamboo connection is traditional, such as pegs and ropes. The strength of the
traditional connection depends very much on the skills of the people who make the connection. Thus to
overcome the bamboo-related problem, mechanical connection is used as a single tooth indentation
connection. Since the angle of roof slope varies, it is necessary to study the effect of angle variation of the
angle on the performance of bamboo filling notch. This study was aimed to determine the performance of
the bamboo filling notch at various angles.
The first study is testing the characteristic of materials both physical and mechanical properties,
and strength of adhesion between bamboo and the use of epoxy. After determining the properties of the
material characteristics, followed by making the specimen with angle variations of 20o, 25o, 30o, 35o and
40o with each variation consists of three (3) samples. The testing of the performance of a single notch
connection is done with static loading up to the failure in the notch.
Based on the testing, the capacity of a single notch connection for the angle of 20o, 25o, 30o, 35o
and 40o are respectively 23.7 KN, 30.4 KN, 31.9 KN, 42.l KN, and 67.7 KN. While, based on ISO, the
results of theoretical calculations, for each angle are respectively 23.3 KN, 23.2 KN, KN 25.7, 27.8 KN,
and 31.5 KN. The connection capacity will increase with the addition of the angles because the bigger the
angle, the greater is the pedestal. The pattern of the failure is that the failure of the shear is together with
the release of bamboo filling notch.
