ANALISIS PENAMBAHAN SERAT ALAM TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK BETON NORMAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE STATISTIK
The use of concrete as the material of building has long been known in Indonesia. One of
the disadvantages of concrete as the construction material is the low tensile stress and the nature
of brittle. This is because concrete needs more reinforcement in overcoming thi]e low stress. The
improvement of concrete may be conducted through the addition of the natural fiber into the
batter of the concrete. This research is aimed at determining the effect of the addition of coconut
fiber, palm fiber into the batter of concrete. Such research on the concrete has often been
conducted, however, previous researches were mostly following the procedures of standard
experiment. So that it is necessary to study this topic on the statistical approach.
This research did the preliminary test to determine the materials that are used to
construct concrete. The concrete batter development is referred to SNI 03-2847-2002on ‘the
procedure of normal concrete planning’. Then it is advanced into stress strength of the concrete,
the strength of breaking stress, water absorption, and the decrease of the dried concrete.
Based on the parameters, of Dunnet’s test, Turkey’s test and Fisher’s test on the
statistical analysis, the strength of palm fiber concrete, and that of sisal fiber, and coconut fiber
concrete are consecutively 6.42%, 16.814%, 28.103% of normal concrete. But there is an
increase in the strength of breaking stress as much as 1.135% on the batter of palm fiber
concrete, meanwhile for coconut fiber concrete and sisal fiber concrete take 12,813% and
26,16% of reduction. And the result of test of physical nature of concrete, there has been an
increase in the water absorption of concrete as much as 7.731%, 19.490% and 20.063% of
normal concrete. And there is a decrease in the decrease of dried concrete as much as 5.663%,
3.773%, and 18.867% of normal concrete.
