PENGARUH VARIASI TEMPERATUR SINTER DAN HOLDING TIME PADA PEMBUATAN SPESIMEN REM SEPEDA MOTOR DARI KOMPOSIT ABU SEKAM PADI, FIBERGLASS, ALUMINIUM, LEMPUNG DENGAN MATRIK PHENOLIC RESIN TERHADAP KEAUSAN DAN JARAK PENGEREMAN
This study aims to determine the effect of sintering temperature and holding time of the brake lining wear rate. then the best of results that will be used to make brake lining. The brake lining wear test, distance, and braking time. The data is then compared with standard brake pads to determine whether or not the quality of the brake friction material non-asbestos.
Brake lining specimens in this study were made with a phenolic resin composition of 40%, 20% rice husk ash, 20% aluminum, 10% clay, 10% fiberglass. Sintering temperature is: 110 oC, 120 oC and 130 oC and holding time is 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes. Testing was performed using a wear rate abration test with a load of 64,42 N and a speed of 1549 rpm. Best of the test specimen is then used as the original brake lining to be tested on a motorcycle supra at a constant speed of 60 km/ h and a load of 64,42 N.
The results of this study indicate that in laboratory tests the lowest wear rate was obtained at the sintering temperature variation 130oC for 90 minutes is 4,55x10-8 g/ mm2.detik. For testing the wear directly, the value of the average wear rate of specimen 3 pairs of brake lining is 1,58x10-6 g/ mm2.detik and average value of 50 032 meters braking distance for 8.62 seconds. As for the brake genuin part, the value of the wear rate is 1,179x10-6 g/ mm2.detik and average braking distance of 34.21 meters for 6.07 seconds
