PENGARUH SUHU DAN LAMA WAKTU SIRKULASI AIR PENYERAP TERHADAP KUALITAS BIOGAS PADA PROSES PEMURNIAN BIOGAS METODE PENYERAPAN AIR DENGAN UNIT REGENERASI
Biogas purification is a process that aims to minimize the content of impurities gases in biogas such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) to get better quality of methane (CH4). One method that can be used is recirculate water absorption method.
In this study, use the method of absorption water by the addition of regeneration unit. Addition of the regeneration unit aims to minimize of pH water as absorbent that decrease after use. Variation or independent variables that affect this study were first variation of water temperature absorber, where the temperature used 18°C, 28°C and 38°C the second variation of the water absorbent regeneration time, at which time the regeneration who used the continuous regeneration, regeneration-pause 5 minutes and regeneration-pause 10 minutes.
Results of these studies showed that the highest quality of the biogas generated in the use of water with a temperature of 18°C with continuous regeneration conditions, while the lowest quality of biogas obtained on the use of temperature 38°C with the condition of regeneration-pause 10 minutes. Use of regeneration unit capable of minimizing a decrease in pH of water used, but it is less the maximum.
