MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS BIOGAS DALAM PROSES PEMURNIAN BIOGAS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ZEOLIT SINTETIK DAN KARBON AKTIF DARI TONGKOL JAGUNG SEBAGAI ADSORBEN
The process of adsorption of CO2 and H2S using synthetic zeolites and activated carbon is one of the most method to increase the quality of biogas. The objective of this study are to determine the effect of variations in the volume ratio of the synthetic zeolites and activated carbon on the levels of CO2 and H2S in biogas. The result show that decreasing of CO2 and H2S content mainly occurred in the variation of the volume ratio 30% synthetic zeolite: 70% activated carbon from 0 to 7.35% for 13 minutes at the 1 l / m (biogas flow rate), while the smallest of the CO2 and decreases occured in the variation of 70% synthetic zeolite: 30% activated carbon from 0.01 to 32.80% for 13 minutes. It can be concluded that the highger of activated carbon volume which is used in adsorbent volume ratio, the greater the absorption of CO2. Moreover, that the ability of synthetic zeolites and activated carbon to adssorb the contents of each is 0 to 1ppm H2S were similiar.
