Pengaruh Bentuk Gading-Gading Perahu Terhadap Beban Bending influence the shape tusks boat against the bending load
The boat is one means of transport has a significant role to connect several islands in Indonesia. Along with the development of science and technology, especially for boat building materials is now not only use wood but have started using sandwich composite materials, is using a material rigid polyurethane foam as a core material in a boat. Joist is one part of the frame of the boat that serves to hold the sea water pressure, so that the boat does not change shape.
In this research, the material used in the manufacture of joist boat is solid polyurethane, polyester resin, and fiberglass. Core material used in the manufacture of tusks this boat is polyurethane, the shape and size of the boat ivory has been determined in accordance with the order of the boat is in position 4, 6, 10, 14 and 18. After the joist boat will be coated with fiberglass and polyester in all parts of the boat tusk that serves as reinforcement on the surface (skin). Tests conducted in this research is testing the bending strength.
Results from this study showed that the greater the curvature of the tusks boat then bending strength will be greater, and decreased bending strength followed the shape of tusks were getting smaller, while the results of testing bending in a row on the form to 4, 6, 10, 14, and 18 is 76.80 MPa, 63,81Mpa, 51.13 MPa, 37.92 MPa and 25.78 MPa. From the bending test results tusks boat shape failure of each specimen is different depending on the shape and size of the specimens, where the failure of each specimen occurs near the midpoint of the specimen, because in that section is where the stress concentration until the specimen failure. From the calculation of a one-way analysis of variance bending strength, the obtained results of F = 60.30 > F table = 3.37, so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, it means that there is significant variation in the effect of joist boat against bending loads.
