ABSTRACT
This time the use of energy increased so that led to the crisis in the energy sector which
led to the search for alternative energy sources (renewable energy). One of the renewable energy
that is potentially in Indonesia is the enrgy of the sun. Solar collector is a device that can collect
or absorb solar radiation and convert it to thermal energy. In this study, the number of collectors
used there are two collectors with a number of pipes 7 and a number of pipe 9, it has the
dimensions of 100 cm x 80 cm x 10 cm by using gravel absorber 9.5 -12.5 mm mesh size.
Collectors placed with slope of 15o facing north, the discharge of water used in this study is 300
cc / min, 350 cc / min and 400 cc / min. The results showed that the collector by the number
of pipes 9 better in heat transfer compared to the collector by the number of pipes 7.
