PENGARUH VARIASI KECEPATAN DAN TEMPERATUR UDARA TERHADAP WAKTU PENGERINGAN BIJI JAGUNG DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ALAT FLUIDIZED BED
ABSTRACT
Drying is one way to extend the shelf life of grain crops such as corn. Post harvest handling
of corn that is very drying to determine the quality of corn for the next usage. Corn is an important
crop that can serve as a food source. Not only is utilized as food but corn can also be used as
feed material, raw material industry and medicine. But in the process of drying many farmers we
especially in Indonesia that still rely on sunlight as a source of heat in the drying of corn. On the
research of drying corn is used fluidized bed type dryers. As a result of this research shows that
the fastest drying time to reach the maximum moisture content of 14% of the initial moisture
content 20 ± 0.5% i.e. 90 minutes achieved in the dryer air flow speed of 5 m/s with air temperature
dryer 45oC. So in this study it can be concluded that to achieve the best drying moisture content
corn seeds by a fast time obtained at 45
oC drying air temperature with the speed of the airflow
dryer 5 m/s.
