ANALISIS SIFAT MEKANIK MATERIAL KOMPOSIT DENGAN PENGUAT SERAT ECENG GONDOK, FILLER SERBUK KAYU JATI DAN MATRIKS POLYESTER
Composite is a combination of two or more materials which are arranged in a certain way to get new
properties on the material results. Making the polyester composite reinforced eichonia crasspes solm fiber with
tectona grandist filler is one way to get new material properties. This study aims to determine the nature of the
bending strength and tensile strength of reinforced polyester composites eichonia crasspes solm fiber with filler
tectona grandist.
Making the composite is done by hand lay-up methods. Materials used in the manufacture of this
composite is eichonia crasspes solm fiber with filler tectona grandist. Tests were carried out based on ASTM
D790 standards for bending test and ASTM D3039 for strength tensile, the methods used in strength tensile is
charpy method. To determine the significance of variations influence on fiber volume fraction and fiber length
is used Two Ways Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) with the variation of fiber length of 10 mm, 15 mm, 25 mm
and variations in fiber volume fraction of 20%, 30% and 40% and fiber direction random.
From the results of this study can be concluded that the variations in the length of fiber volume fraction
and significant effect on the value of bending strength and strength tensile . In the bending test obtained the
highest bending strength of 42.51 MPa at 25 mm fiber length of the fiber volume fraction of 40%. And bending
strength low of 20.70 MPa in fiber length of 10 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 20%. While the value of the
highest strength tensile 17,722 MPa on the fiber length of 25 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 400% and the
lowest strength tensile value that is equal to 4,384 on the fiber length of 10 mm with a fiber volume fraction of
20%.
