Lifting and Transporting Associated with Gender (Analyzed from the Perspective of Social Culture)
Abstract— Gender equality isa manifestasi ofhuman nature as a part of natural law, in wich both man and woman equally have the right and obligation tocarry out their own work. The difference is shown in the type of work, workload, and work volume. The way the transport load by women in Indonesia isdiffrent. It depends on the social and cultural or localcustom. Each workload reseived bu works soul be adjusted to physical and cognitive abilities, also human limatitions, thus efforts to prevent enjuries, illnesses, and reduce physical and mental workload could be achieved. In relation to dish ussue, a studi on the workload oflifting and transporting associated with gender was conducted at Badung market. The issue was analyzed from the perspective of social, cultural and biomechanics. The studi result shows that : 1) the way to transport load by woman in Indonesia is different, in with it dependson the social and cultural or local costum. For instance, womwn in Bali transporting the load by placing iton their head (in Balinese is known as nyuun), while in Java they do it by carrying the load at her back, 2) when the ways of lifting and transporting load is compared one to another, it is shown that carrying the loadat the back would require additional force reaction by the human body system, as a result of the eccentric force, known as moment, 3) the average weight (tomato and chilli) transported by female workers at Badung market is 98.550 ± 5.482, in wich this average weight far exceeding the average weight permitted by NIOSH and ILO, and 4) the pulse before working is 73.600 ± 4.561, where as the pulse after working is 96.000 ± 2.828, wich categorized as light (75-100). The in creasing of pulse after working is 23 beats per minute, with does not exceed the permitted 30-40 beats per minute. Therefore, the following are suggestions proposed for the issue: 1) olthough man and women have an equqlity to carry out their work, it is important to determine if the work is suitable to be carried out by man and women, 2) the workload received by the worker has to be adjusted to physical and cognitive abilities, also human limitation, and 3) maintaining the increasing of worker’s pulse within the permetted number; exceeding 30-40 beat per minute, and in less than 15 minutes, the pulse will decrease outomaticall to the pulse be fore working.

It is finding that there is no different of life social treatment between the male and the female in the life activity to the society, nation and country in the family life there is agreement of understanding for the achieving life welfare in accordance with the Hindu teaching. The man of Hindu prays a high respect to the women, the work what ever the from is both the matter of religion or the matter of humanity without involving the women, the work will be never perfectly done, also in the other way without involving the man, the work done will be never be perfect. God created the man and the women to help each other, to fill each other for the world wellfare. By that way man and women are having the same intresting fuction in actualizing the same intresting function in actualizing the value of humanity for achieving the welfare and happiness both spiritually ar physically.
According to Hindu vision both man and woman have the same level of respect (they are both similarly respected), the one that make them different is the duty and the responsibility of both for their human habit is different. As the habit of the man and the women is different, in which the human barns has the physical body and spiritual soul so this illustrates the positive character and negative character, for the human barns can not be against the law of rwabhineda, two thing are different the man and the women, the good and the bad, happy and sad, success and fail.
The similarity of gender is the human habit transformation as a part of natural law, the man and the women similarity have right and duty to applicate their swadarma each of them, the one that make them different is the kind of job, the load of work, the volume of the work, so the concern of the job is determined by the sex weather it is man or women.
This paper is composed to understand the work load of lifting- transporting of load related to the gender, avaluated from the aspect of social and culture and also its effect to the health evaluated from biomechanics.
