DAUR ULANG ALUMINIUM SKRAP DENGAN PADUAN TEMBAGA(Cu) DAN SENG (Zn) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEKUATAN DAN KEKERASAN BAHAN
This study aimed to determine the effect of the composition of aluminum with copper and zinc on the level of violence and the impact strength on aluminum recycling. The materials used are aluminum traces of the machining process types Al 5083. The material is melted and poured into sand molds. Results foundry then made the test material for impact testing in accordance with ASTM E 23-05 and hardness testing in accordance with ASTM E 92-82. From the results of testing for impact testing method shows charpy test material with a percentage weight of Al 5083 80%, Cu 15% Zn + 5% energy absorbing most at an average of 39.24 Joules / mm2. Whereas, the average energy absorbed test material with a percentage weight of Al 5083 80%, Cu 10% Zn + 10% ie 13.20 Joules / mm2 and test materials by weight percentage of Al 5083 80%, 5% Cu + Zn 15% is 26,85 Joule / mm2. As for testing the hardness with vikers method shows that the test material with a percentage weight of Al 5083 80%, Cu 10% + 10% Zn have an average hardness value of around 559.1 HVN. The test results of the test material with a percentage weight of Al 5083 80%, Cu 15% Zn + 5% ie 500.5 HVN. Hardness testing on test materials with the weight percentage of Al 5083 80%, 5% Cu + Zn 15%, is 525.3 HVN. Conclusions from the study is that a higher level of copper in the test material pesentase more likely the greater the price impaknya and inversely proportional to the hardness value.
