Sistem Pendingin Pada Kulkas Termoelektrik Dengan Variasi Pembebanan
Thermoelectric is a tool that converts electricity to thermal energy. Thermoelectric can be developed to be a refrigeration machine using a Peltier effect. The main advantage of the Peltier effect is the absence of moving parts or circulating fluid, environmental friendly and no ozone destruction. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of cooling loads on the refrigerator room temperature and COP.
In this study, three identical Peltier modules model TEC1-12706 with an overall dimension of 40 mm x 40 mm x 3,74 mm were used. The modules were arranged in a parallel form and were operated using a DC current and voltage. A mini-refrigerator with a size of 39 cm x 32 cm x 53 cm was employed to perform experiments. Experimental data were collected using the NI DAQ 9714 interfaced using a LabView program to the PC. The cooling loads (drinking water) were varied 600 ml, 1500 ml, 3000 ml and 4500 ml and each experiment was run for approximately 210 minutes and the electrical power used was 189,59 W.
The results show that increasing the cooling load increases the cooler space temperature. The cooler space temperature without a cooling load was 14,07oC, while with a load of 600 ml it was 16,08oC, with a load of 1500 ml it was 17,07oC, with a load of 3000 ml it was 18,47oC and with a load of 4500 ml it was 20,83oC. As the cooling load increases, COP rises. In general, the cooling system using a Peltier effect can be used for cooling some goods especially for small cooling load.
