PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN ABSORBER BATU KERIKIL DAN PASIR TERHADAP LAJU PERPINDAHAN PANAS PADA KOLEKTOR SURYA PELAT DATAR
Indonesia country is a country rich in energy, particularly solar thermal energi. To harness the sun’s energy is needed a device known as a solar collector. Solar collector as a solar solar energy collector system generally consists of several parts : a dark-colored absorber plate, heat pipes and a transparent cover of glass or plastic, called glazing. The sun shone strough the transparent cover and the absorber plate, so that the absorber plate temperature rose because it absorbs heat. Absorber heat absorbed is then given to the fluid which is inside the pipes of heat and partly lost to the environment (heat loss). The present study the authors used the media of stone gravel and sand as a replacement media absorber with a slope 15o facing north. Collector size used was 100cm x 80cm x 10cm and the size of the gravel used absorber is mesh diameter hole 4,75 to 6,3mm. Water used in the test flow by gravitational influence of the shelter with a higher water flow rate is set using a valve which is mounted onthe inlet collector output. The flow rate of water used variaes the 200cc, 250cc and 300cc which is measured using a measuring cup and stop watch.
The resultsof study showed that the energy that goes into the absorber, the energy absorbed in the water absorber and the temperature will increase with time until it reaches a peak time observations of solar radiation at the range of 12.00 to14.30 pm and then declined. Difference absorber used affects the rate of heat transfer to the water. So in this study, sand absorber has a heat transfer rate that is better than gravel.
Key words: solar collectors, absorber pebbles and sand, the performance of the collector
