Research waru tree bark fiber composites aims to determine the optimal conditions bending
strength fiber-reinforced polyester composites waru tree bark with rice husk filler with the response
surface method.
The method is to alkalization bast fibers waru with immersion 5% NaOH per 1 liter of water
for 2 hours. Test specimen prepared by the method Hand Lay-Up and Compaction, fiber ratio is
35.86%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 64.14% with filler 0.76%, 2%, 5%, 8% and 9 , 24%. Bending testing
using ASTM standard D790 and data analysis using the response surface method
The test results showed the best condition is the fiber volume fraction of 49.06% and 5.39%
volume fraction of filler with the value of comparative strength 99.71 N / mm2. Response surface
method is an efficient method used to determine the degree-level independent variables to
optimize.
