PENGARUH BENTUK LUBANG PADA INTI OPENED CELL FOAM BAMBU KOMPOSIT SANDWICH TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK, KEKUATAN GESER DAN PENYERAPAN AIR
In this research, bamboo is used as core raw material of composite sandwich. The form
of the core is varied by giving circle and square holes. Polyester use as matrix and plywood
use as skin. Fiber volume fraction of 15% by weight, with length of fiber is 30 mm, the
distance between holes is 40 mm. Tests performed is tensile strength refers to standard ASTM
C279, shear strength refers to standard ASTM C273 and water absorbtion refers to standard
ASTM 272.The results showed that specimen without hole in the core has the highest tensile
strength is 0,37 N/mm2 and specimen with square holes in the core has smallest tensile
strength is 0,12 N/mm2. The highest shear strength is the specimen with square holes 0,43
N/mm2 and the smallest is specimen with square holes 0,24 N/mm2. The highest ability of
water absorbtion is specimen with skin from plywood holes of the core is square 45% and the
smallest ability of water absorbtion is specimen without skin with holes of the core is circle
21%. Anova calculation showed that variation holes of the core indicates that there is
significant effect on tensile strength, shear strength and water absorbtion
