ANALISIS WAKTU DAN BIAYA IRIGASI PADA SISTEM IRIGASI PIPA LEB DAN IRIGASI GENANGAN DI LAHAN KERING PRINGGABAYA
Dusun Tinggir in Pringgabaya district is one of an area of dry land in Lombok Island. Pringgabaya district rainfall state is quite volatile, especially in 2009. This condition has made a decreasing in availability of land suitable for development of agricultural land. The using of surface irrigation in Pringgabaya is causing a massive loss of water because of evaporation and infiltration. This kind of irrigation system irrigates one hectare of agricultural land for 7-9 hours, while the cost of wells pumping operational is at Rp 25.000,. – Rp 35,000,. per hour. The other problem is the uneven of water dispersing from the nearest point of the inlet to the furthest point from any inlet when using surface irrigation, so the utilization of ground water is not optimal. The loss of water when distributing also resulting in water-logging process time becomes longer, so the longer the time of flooding the greater the operational cost. So, to overcome these problems is we need to design a network of piping irrigation.
The model of piping irrigation is made with 16 outlet holes within each 4 meters in distance while designing the inundation irrigation similar to what farmers use and consists of one inlet. Distribution of water irrigating duration is set to the variation of 10, 15 and 20 minutes. This experiment purpose is to determine the value of soil moisture with seeking interval time the moisture soil required to return to the beginning soil moisture after irrigation, the time interval obtained will be used to calculate the irrigation needs of the time during the assumption time of 60, 90 and 120 days. After getting the needed data of the irrigation time, the data will be used to calculate the cost of irrigation requirements during the 60, 90 and 120 days.
Based on the analysis that has been done, the researcher has gained the irrigation time difference between inundation irrigation systems and LEB pipes irrigation in an area of 4 acres. The difference of irrigation time obtained is 0.83 hours to 2.5 hours. While the difference in the cost of irrigation derived from analysis of data between these two systems is 25% for the duration of 10 minutes irrigation, 33.33% for the duration of 15 minutes and 25% for the duration of 20 minutes irrigation.
