UNJUK KERJA KULKAS TERMOELEKTRIK DENGAN RANGKAIAN SERI DAN PARALEL
With increasing human mobility, portable refrigerators become very important because they can
be used to store foods or drinks so that they are durable or colder. Therefore, thermoelectric refrigerators
are good option. Thermoelectric refrigerators are easy to carry, easy to maintain, durable, more compact,
lightweight, no refrigerant and little power. Thermoelectric refrigerators researchs have been done with
series and parallel circuits to know the effect of a circuit on the refrigerator performance.
This research uses a mini refrigerator with an overall size of 40.8 cm x 32.6 cm x 53.8 cm with two
thermoelectric modules TEC1-12706. The electrical power used for each set is of about 12 W.
Eksperimental data were collected and recorded using the data logger NI DAQ 9714 connected to a PC
using a LabView program.
The results of testings without a load with a series circuit show the refrigerator room temperature
of 21.59 oC and COP of 0.35, while that with a parallel circuit create the refrigerator room temperature of
22.05 oC and COP of 0.33. Both testing were recorded for 9600 seconds. Meanwhile, testings with a load
of 1500 ml (drinking water) and a series circuit, generate the refrigerator room temperature of 22.54 oC
and COP 0.45. Moreover, testing with a load 1500 ml (drinking water) and a parallel circuit form the
refrigerator room temperature of 23.1oC and COP of 0.43. The testings with the load of 1500 ml drinking
water were performed for about 14400 seconds. Therefore, it can be said that the electric circuit in this
research has no effect on the refrigerator performance
