PENGARUH PEMECAH GELOMBANG AMBANG RENDAH (PEGAR) BERONGGA TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK KECEPATAN PARTIKEL AIR
Erosion and sedimentation are problems in coastal area such as problem in Gili Trawangan in order to overcome the problem, the submerged breakwater has been built in Gili Trawangan. This researh analyze the influence of hollow submerged breakwater on the characteristic of water particle velocity for knowing it’s performance. This research is using physical simulation and numerical simulation.
The research result on physical simulation show at variation of submerged breakwater quantit, i.e. Pegar 5; Pegar 3; and Pegar 1, the reduction average percentage of water particle velocity are 23,33%; 20,59%; and 2,59% respectively. At variation of water depth, i.e. 50 cm; 45 cm; and 40 cm, the reduction are 2,95%; 3,7%; and 4,00% respectively. At variation of wave height, i.e. 9,5 cm; 8,1 cm; and 7,5 cm, the rduction are 4,00%; 7,02%; and 33,33% respectively. Whereas the numerical simulation result by using CADMAS-SURF 3D for Pegar 5 in the same data case, the reduction is 78,33%.
The research show the more quantity of submerged breakwater is the bigger reduction of water particle velocity. The smaller distance of water surface from submerged breakwater surface is the bigger reduction of water particle velocity. The smaller wave height value is the bigger reduction of water particle velocity. The difference value between physical simulation and numerical simulation because the physical simulation use regular wave, whereas the numerical simulation use water elevation difference in velocity formula. Therefore, numerical simulation result is not appropriate to be used in this research.
