PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH KULIT KERANG DARAH (Anadara Granosa) SEBAGAI PENGGANTI SEBAGIAN AGREGAT KASAR (BATU APUNG) PADA BETON RINGAN
The need for lightweight concrete in various applications of modern construction technology is increasing very rapidly along with material development. This is because the lightweight concrete has advantages such as the smaller weight of the concrete so that it can reduce the weight of its own structural elements. Lightweight concrete can be produced using light aggregates such as pumice. Pumice has weakness easily brittle/destroyed by pressure. By utilizing the shell waste of anadara granosa that has hardness in the shell as partial replacement of pumice stone (coarse aggregate) on light concrete hence done research with aim to know influence from partial replacement of pumice stone with shells to weight of content, value of compressive strength, splite tensile strength and flexural strength.
The study was conducted with five variations, four mixtures of aggregate replacement of pumice with shells of 12,5%, 25%, 37,5% and 50% of the volume of pumice and one without replacement as lightweight concrete reference. The test specimen is made in the form of concrete dimension cylinder d = 100 mm height = 200 mm for compressive strength test, splite tensile strength and beam of dimensions 50x50x200 mm for flexural testing.
The test results showed that the weight of the contents was increased with increasing percentage of pumice replacement with anadara granosa shell and still included lightweight concrete structure at 50% mixture, while for compressive strength, tensile strength and flexural strength only allowed maximum replacement on the percentage of shells by 37,5%.Therefore the partial replacement of pumice with the shells of anadara granosa is beneficial to increased compressive strength and lightweight concrete mechanical properties at a maximum of 37,5% blend
