VARIASI LAMA PERENDAMAN PERLAKUAN ALKALI DAN PANJANG SERAT TERHADAP UJI TARIK DAN BENDING PADA KOMPOSIT SERAT TANGKAI AGEL DAN FILLER TEMPURUNG KELAPA BERMATRIK POLYSTER
Along with the development of the manufacturing industry, the use of composite materials that are environmentally friendly and recyclable are the demands of today’s technology. Composite material with filler material either in the form of natural fiber and artificial fiber is one of the composite materials expected in the industrial world. This study aims to find out how the value of tensile strength and bending strength on the variation of alkali tratment and fiber length to the mechanical properties of polyamide unsaturated polyester (UPR) composite fiber composites. This research was conducted by experiment. In the manufacture of specimens for tensile and bending tests the experimental design used were factorial design (3 different immersion times (hours), 3 variations for fiber length and 3 repetitions). While the data analysis used to test the hypothesis is a two way analysis of variance (Two ways anova). At this tensile strength, the highest composite tensile strength was obtained at 20 mm length with 2 hours immersion time is 21,17 Mpa, and the lowest tensile strength was 12,5 Mpa at 40 mm fiber length with 6 hours of soaking time. While the bending strength of the highest bending strength value on the immersion time of 4 hours with 20 mm fiber length is 31,5 Mpa, and the lowest bending strength is 21,8 Mpa on the immersion time of 2 hours with a fiber length of 20 mm.
