Unjuk kerja PLTMH menggunakan turbin savonius dengan variasi sudut deflektor
The aim of this research is making a higher performance of savonius water turbine by using a deflector on the face of Savonius turbine. The object of this method is reducing the negative torque on returning blade of Savonius turbine. This research was held in cannal of irrigation at Pelowok Selatan Village, Kediri. This cannal has the water velocity 0,8-1,2 m/s. Deflector is placed in front of the turbine with various angles, 30o, 45o, and 60o. The shape of these deflector is appropriate with the cannal form. The turbine without deflector is being tested.. The result, using deflector has the higher performance in angular velocity and electrical power than the turbin without deflector at all various angles. The maximum performance is reached at the deflector angle 30o with the water velocity is 1,86 m/s; water power is 407,796 W; angular velocity of turbine is 5,9953 rad/s; and electricity power with load (direct current lamp) 7 watt is 5,5 W. The lowest performance is recahed at the deflector angle 60o with the water velocity is 1,52 m/s; water power is 215,6901 W; angular velocity of turbine is 4,3144 rad/s; and electricity power with load (direct current lamp) 7 watt is 4,1 W. So, the conclution of thei research is acquirement of smaller deflector angle will make the higher performance of Micro-Hydro Power Plant acquiring the Savonius water turbine.
