Water is a basic necessity in everyday life, both for humans, animals and plants. The use of pumps to fulfill water needs is an appropriate solution and has proven successful use by generation and next generation. However, if examined more deeply, there are still constraints faced when faced with the energy needs as a prime mover pump. In general, the main driving force of the pump used is an electric motor that requires the consumption of electric energy and fuel as the driving force of the motor. To overcome this problem arise the idea to make appropriate technology in the pump technology that does not use electricity or diesel, so it is more efficient in terms of cost and more simple maintenance. Hydraulic Ram Pump (Hydram) is a pump which energy or mover comes from a water hammer that enters the pump through a pipe. The hydraulic pump used in this research is 1.5 inches in diameter and the length of the 4 meters input pipe with varying height of the used (1 meter, 2 meters, 3 meters) and five variations of the valve valve step length (1 cm, 1.5 cm, 2 cm, 2.5 cm, 3 cm). From the results of the research showed that for the use of high variation of dump and the length of the valve step of the waste obtained the results of research for the increase of every 1 meter different height of the
dump is used to produce an average of 2

increment produced at the output discharge, the head max produces an average of 51 % increment, and an average of 100% increment for efficiency at 1 meter to 2 meters height dump, while at 2 to 3 meters height dump the resulting efficiency is close to the same. The increment of 0.5 cm each of the length of the step varied on the output discharge produces an average of 9% increment, in the max head produces an average of 10%, and the efficiency produces an average of 8%.
