Pengaruh variasi laju aliran udara dengan penambahan uap air pada gasifikasi tipe up draft berbahan kotoran kuda terhadap persentase kadar gas H2, CH4, CO dan CO2
Gasification is a process for converting a carbonaceous material into a gas or synthetic gas such as H2, CO, CH4. In general, the gasification process involves a carbon reaction with air, oxygen, moisture, carbon dioxide, or a mixture of some gases at a temperature of 1300 ° F or higher to produce a gas product that can be used to provide electricity and heat or fuel liquid or other fuels such as hydrogen. In this research, the gasification material used is horses dung which aims to know the percentage of gas composition content of H2, CH4, CO and CO2 in syngas on the gasification process and to know the effect of the air flow rate with the addition of water vapor at percentage of syngas composition. The Syngas obtained from the gasification process tested by using gas chromatography. The research is designed by using experimental method. The dependent variable used in this research was percentage of H2, CH4, CO and CO2 gas level. The independent variable was flow rate, which was 10 L/mins, 15 L/mins, 20 L/mins, 25 L/mins and 30 L/mins by adding water vapor on its each gasification process. The results showed that the highest percentage of each gas level by using horses dung feedstock and additional water vapor was obtained at 30 L/mins of flow rate for H2, CH4, and CO2, but at 10 L/mins for CO. The obtained highest level was 37.33816% of H2; 0.18067% of CH4,; 3.47431% of CO2; and 11.04466% of CO.
