UJI PERFORMANCE TURBIN SAVONIUS PADA ALIRAN AIR DENGAN VARIASI RASIO KONSENTRASI
Water energy is a renewable energy that can be used as a power plant. Water flow energy which can be used to drive a wheel or turbine. Savonius turbine is suitable for utilizing relatively low water flow energy, because savonius turbines have a good self starting. So that there is the potential to utilize irrigation as a power plant. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in concentration ratios on rotor rotation (n), torque (T), turbine power (P), turbine efficiency, and system efficiency (ɳs). In this study the number of blades used is 3 and the concentration ratio used is 1: 1 (without concentrator), 2: 1, 3: 1, and 4: 1. The results show that in general using concentrators can increase turbine rotation, torque, turbine power, turbine efficiency, and system efficiency. The best performance coefficient obtained in this study is concentrator with a concentration ratio of 3: 1 that is equal to 18%.
