PENGARUH VARIASI PENAMBAHAN EM-4 PADA KOTORAN SAPI DENGAN CAMPURAN SAMPAH ORGANIK TERHADAP VOLUME BIOGAS DARI PROSES ANAEROB
Biogas consists of methane gas (CH4) of 49%, carbon dioxide (CO2) of 45%, hydrogen (H2) of 1-5%, oxygen (O2) of 0.1-0.5%, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) of 0-3% and other imperfections (Fadli, 2013). The remainder of biogas fermentation can also be used as fertilizer The remainder of biogas fermentation can also be used as fertilizer which is very beneficial for plants. On the other hand, processing can improve environmental cleanliness and greenhouse gas emissions, because agricultural waste and animal manure that have been disposed of in an open place containing methane (CH4). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of EM-4 addition variations (Effective Microorganism4) in the substrate of cow dung mixed with organic waste, especially cabbage trash (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata) for production volumes of biogas produced by the substrate in anaerobic process with variations in the addition of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% in each experiment. From the results of the study, the addition of EM-4 can reduce the pH value of the substrate because EM4 has a pH value of 3.73. and the use of insulators from beach sand wrapped in plastic sacks can maintain the temperature of the digester at room temperature which is 27oC – 30oC. so the environmental temperature does not inhibit the anaerobic fermentation process in the digester. The biggest volume is generated in the P3 variable addition of EM-4 15% by 0.705 liters. While the variable TP without the addition of EM-4 the volume produced is equal to 0.124 liters However, adding too much EM-4 in variable P4 (addition of EM-4 20%) it actually decreases biogas production with the largest volume of 0.158 liters.
