Pengaruh Variasi Kekasaran Permukaan Disc Terhadap Unjuk Kerja Turbin Tesla
Utilization of water energy is basically the use of potential energy and kinetic energy, the kinetic energy of water flow which is a transformation of gravitational potential energy is used to drive a turbine or windmill, Tesla turbines have a simple design but have considerable efficiency in their utilization. This study uses two methods, namely the experimental method and the literature study. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of surface surface roughness on Tesla turbines on turbine shaft rotation (N), Torque (T), turbine power (P), and turbine efficiency (%), this study used discs 120 mm in diameter with 6 pieces surface roughness of 0.0381 mm, 0.0217 mm, and 0.0172 mm The results of this study indicate that discs with a roughness of 0.0381 mm have the best performance with 45.25 Watt turbine power, turbine efficiency of 74.16% and system efficiency 1.71%, then disc roughness of 0.0217 mm with turbine power 43 , 84 Watts, turbine efficiency of 71.85% and system efficiency of 1.24%, and the lowest is a disc with a roughness of 0.0172 mm which is obtained by 41.30 Watt turbine power, turbine efficiency of 67.69%, and system efficiency of 0.83%.
