PENGARUH VARIASI PANJANG POROS DAN POSISI MASSA TERHADAP PUTARAN KRITIS POROS (WHIRLING SHAFT)
Very many application of a rotating shaft in a machining construction.The shaft that functions to transmit the power supplied from one component to another component is always happened rotational motion. This move often causes the shaft to become curved and can be break.The biggest curvature that occurs on the rotating shaft is caused when a critical speed occurs (critical speed), this phenomenon is called the whirling effect.Therefore, in this research will be to design a tool to get round the critical speed of a rotating shaft. In this critical speed tool will be tested with some the length axis variation and the masses position (disc) that be assambled on the shaft between the two bearings and then rotated using an electric motor. And the critical round value in the experimental method will be validated with theoretical calculations.The test uses a 12 volt DC motor with a maximum round(n) of 3000 rpm and a critical speed engine test equipment on a 304 stainless steel shaft rod with a diameter of D =12 mm with a maximum length of shaft L =600 mm. The test will be carried out using the Arduino controller with the PID algorithm.In other words, the critical speed will be faster when the shaft is getting longer. The value of the critical rotation speed is greater if the position of the disc is getting farther away from its center position. In anova tested, shaft length variation can be significant influenced to critical speed (Ftable =6,944272Fcount =4,834368).
