ANALISA PERBANDINGAN JUMLAH DISK DENGAN TAKIKAN DAN TANPA TAKIKAN PADA DISK TURBIN TESLA
The Tesla turbine is a machine using alternative energy. The energy can change the potential energy of the fluid into mechanical energy by using disk arranged sequentially on one axis of the shaft with gap and the number of the disk which is specified. The Tesla turbine is a turbine that utilizes the effects of fluid blocked between gap results from viscosity, thus utilizing the effect of boundary layer; the boundary layer effect of interaction between fluid media and disc or disk. This research was done in experimental methods and the study of literature. Analysis of comparison between the number of disk with the notch and without the notch with the number of disks used 9, 6 and 3. The diameter of the disk used is 120 mm, the thick is 2 mm and the head used is 5.2 m. The purpose of this research is to know the results of the comparison of the rotation, torque, power and efficiency generated by disks in a notch with without notch. Independet Variables studied were rotation, torque, power and efficiency. This research was carried out in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Mataram. The results of research using dynamometer was that the largest torque was generated by disk 9 with notch with torque of 0.397 Nm on the rotation shaft of 634.1 rpm and smallest torque obtained by the disk 3 without notch with the torque of 0.186 Nm at 296 rpm. The largest power generated from disk 9 with notch of 26.32 W on the rotation shaft of 634.1 rpm and smallest power generated from the disk 3 without notch of 5.11 W on a rotation shaft of 212.7 rpm. The greatest efficiency generated from disk 9 with notch with efficiency of 68.20 % and the smallest efficiency obtained from disk 3 without notch with efficiency of 27.95 %. On the research using generator, the largest power was generated from disk 9 with notch with power of 2.41 W on 623.6 rpm and smallest power was generated from the disk 3 without notch of with power of 0.01 W on 228.1 rpm. The greatest efficiency was generated from disks 9 with notch with efficiency of 6.25 % and the smallest efficiency was generated from disks 3 without notch of with efficiency 0.05 %.
