Fossil fuel resources are progressively reduced and therefore the required renewable fuels such as biomass. Biomass consists of organic waste materials such as waste horse feces that can be processed into briquettes either in the form of biomass briquettes or briquettes biocarbon by way charred. At the briquettes are still developing to look for a good calorific value.The purpose of the research is the effect of adding NaOH to biomass and biocarbon briquettes horse feces waste on the value of the heat produced. The ingredients in these tests horse feces waste without the addition of NaOH and horse feces waste with the addition of NaOH. The addition of starch as an adhesive in the manufacture of biomass briquette and then through pyrolysis into biocarbon. The variation of the adhesive with the materials used in the amount of 5%, 10% and 15%.The test results the calorific value is obtained calorific value generated in the briquette biocarbon higher than the biomass briquette in horse feces waste without and with the addition of NaOH. In the biomass briquette is not required by the addition of NaOH cause a decrease in calorific value when added NaOH. In biocarbon briquette obtained the highest calorific value percentage of 10% adhesive.
