PENGARUH JUMLAH SIRIP BERONGGA PADA ALAT DISTILASI AIR LAUT TENAGA SURYA TERHADAP PRODUKSI AIR TAWAR
Fresh water is the main need for living things,
especially humans, which is not only used for washing,
cooking, bathing and so on but also for consumption.
Nowadays, the need for fresh water use is increasing,
therefore, to meet these needs it is necessary to develop
an alternative method that can be done. This fresh water
can be produced from various methods. One of these
methods which is quite simple is distillation.
This study aims to determine the effect of
variations in the number of hollow fins in the solar
seawater distillation apparatus. Variations without
hollow fins, 10 hollow fins and 15 hollow fins were used
as independent variables in the distillation apparatus
(ambient temperature, sea water temperature, room
temperature in the distillator, solar energy heat and wind
speed around the appliance) which were used as the
dependent variable. In this study, the water level used
was 2.5 cm for each distillation device. In this research,
aluminum is used as a hollow fin material which will be
placed in a distillation device which will then vary the
number of hollow fins in each distillation device. Where
the distillation process is carried out for 3 days in sunny
weather conditions.
In this study, it was found that the amount of
fresh water produced by varying the number of hollow
fins for three days, namely the flat absorber (without
hollow fins) was 3,730 kg, the absorber with 10 hollow
fins was 3,535 kg and the absorber with 15 hollow fins
was 4.154 kg.
