PENGARUH RASIO PEREKAT EPOXY RESIN TERHADAP HARDENER DENGAN FILLER NANO-CaCO3 MENGGUNAKAN METODE PEEL RESISTANCE OF ADHESIVE (T-PEEL TEST) ASTM D 1876 DALAM LINGKUNGAN KERING DAN BASAH
Epoxy is a thermoset synthetic product of polyepoxy resin reactions with hardening
substances. In addition epoxy is also able to maintain the mechanical properties of
a material in a wet environment, which is very important because it determines the
quality of the material itself.The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of the
ratio of epoxy resins to hardeners on the strength of T-Peel steel-steel joints in dry
and wet conditions.
The materials used are steel and epoxy. The ratio of resin/hardener is 1:1 ; 1:0,75 ;
1:0,5 ; 1:0.4 with caco3 nano filler 3%. The method of testing is t-peel test by
comparing dry specimens (without immersion) and wet specimens with immersion
of distillate water at room temperature (28°C) and temperature of 45°C for 71 days.
The results obtained for t-peel strength testing of joints in dry conditions, the
highest average T-peel strength occurred at a 1:1 resin/hardener ratio of 58.98
(N/mm) and the lowest average T-peel strength occurred at a 1:0.4 resin/hardener
ratio of 33.79 (N/mm). In wet room temperature conditions (28°C), the highest
average T-peel strength occurs at a resin/hardener ratio of 1:0.5 of 41.39 (N/mm)
and the lowest average T-peel strength occurs in a composition of 1:0.4 at 11.90
(N/mm). In wet conditions the highest temperature (45°C) average T-peel strength
occurs at a resin/hardener ratio of 1:0.5 of 25.42 (N/mm) and the lowest average Tpeel strength occurs at a composition of 1:1 of 8.93 (N/mm).
