PENGARUH RASIO PEREKAT EPOXY-RESIN TERHADAP HARDENER DENGAN FILLER NANO-CaCO3 PADA KETANGGUHAN-RETAK SAMBUNGAN PEREKATAN BAJA-BAJA DALAM LINGKUNGAN KERING DAN BASAH
Epoxy is a thermoset synthetic product of polyepoxy resin reactions with hardening
substances. Epoxy is widely used as a composite matric fiber, adhesive, and
coating. In addition epoxy is also able to maintain the mechanical properties of a
material in a wet environment, which is very important because it determines the
quality of the material itself. One factor of water absorption is the influence of
microstruct structures found in epoxy tissue which is also determined by the ratio
of epoxy resin to hardener. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of the
ratio of epoxy resins to hardeners on the cracking strength of steel-steel joints in
dry and wet conditions.
The materials used are steel and epoxy. The resin/hardener comparison is 1:1;
1:0,75 ; 1:0,5 ; 1:0.4 with caco3 nano filler 3 %. The testing method is to test the
toughness of cracks by comparing dry specimens (without immersion) and wet
specimens with immersion of distillate water at 28 ˚C temperatures and
temperatures of 45 °C for 71 days.
The results obtained for the testing of the toughness of the joint crack in dry
conditions, the highest average crack toughness occurred at a resin/hardener ratio
of 1:1 and the lowest crack toughness occurred at the resin/hardener ratio of
1:075. In wet conditions 28 ˚C temperatures, the highest average crack toughness
occurs at a resin/hardener ratio of 1:0,4 and the lowest average crack toughness
occurs at a composition of 1:1. In wet conditions the highest temperature (45 °C)
of crack toughness occurs at a resin/hardener ratio of 1:0,4 and the lowest average
crack toughness occurs at a composition of 1:1
