PENGARUH PENGGANTI SEBAGIAN AGREGAT KASAR DENGAN AGREGAT KASAR LIMBAH PLASTIK PET TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK BETON NORMAL
Along with the increasing stack of wastes, an alternative way is needed to
reduce pollution which especially beneficial for the building structure’s scope.
There have to be practical solutions, one of which is the PET (Polyethylene
Terephthalate) plastic which recycles plastic waste as one of the building blocks
of concrete.
This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Civil Engineering
Structure and Materials in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Mataram.
The researcher used a 35 mm coarse aggregate and plastic waste coarse aggregate
to substitute the f’c 25 MPa coarse aggregate. It tested 36 cylinders and 3 mixedbeams with a proportion of 10% up to 50% plastic waste coarse aggregate
mixture. The plastic coarse aggregate, with a ratio of 7:3 crushed plastic and sand
plastic coarse aggregate, were obtained from plastic paving. Then, the researcher
performed the tests of compressive strength, tensile strength, and bending strength
after doing the concrete treatment for 14 and 28 days. This test was also
performed to obtain results that would be the boundary between standard and
lightweight concretes.
The result of the research showed the compressive strength and tensile
strength test of concrete 100% coarse aggregate of 27,18 MPa and 3,68 MPa
respectively. Moreover, the bending strength test obtained on the 90% coarse
aggregate and 10 % PET plastic waste coarse aggregate of 3,096 MPa
