MODIFIKASI MACHINE KETINTING DENGAN MENAMBAHKAN ALTERNATOR UNTUK MELAYANI KEBUTUHAN DAYA LAMPU NELAYAN TRADISIONAL PADA MALAM HARI
In carrying out fishing activities, traditional fishermen
usually use outboard motor boats or commonly called
ketinting machines. The ketinting machines is a modified
multipurpose engine with a long shaft connecting the
engine and the propeller. The function of the long shaft is
to keep the propeller under water and the engine to stay on
top of the boat. In this study, the engine was modified by
adding an alternator or a car battery charging system. By
modifying the ketinting engine by adding an alternator, it
aims to assist fishing communities in meeting the needs of
lamp power for lighting when carrying out fishing activities
at night. The ketinting machines is coupled to a pulley on
the long shaft, and the pully is connected to the alternator
using a V-belt, so that when the tinting engine is turned on,
the alternator will rotate and will charge the battery. When
fishermen carry out activities during the day and do not use
lights, the alternator will charge the battery and the battery
is ready to be used at night with a full state. In this study,
measurements of V, I and FC were carried out at the time
of charging. Variations of rotation at the time of charging
are 1500, 200 and 2500 Rpm. The results of this study
indicate that charging the battery at 2500 Rpm is the
fastest charging time of 7.866 hours and the charging
current produced by the alternator is 6.6 A while the
longest charging time is at 1500 Rpm with a time of 16.716
hours and a charging current of 3.23 A. The application of
the automatic charging circuit with the alternator and
regulator works well, marked by a decrease in the current
flowing continuously as the battery is filled.
